Holiday Essentials: Silk Trousers

In 22 days time I will be boarding a flight to Perth, Western Australia, for a holiday with the not-so-new boyf.

I'm lucky enough to have been a few times before (we have a family friend who lives there) and am absolutely in love with the place. The not-so-new boyf has never been and I'm excited to show him the sights.

Obviously this seamlessly leads itself to a wish-list post and this time, it's for slinky, silk trousers.

Light enough to not bother me in the heat, but tailored enough to dress up in the evening, I want trousers that cover me from breakfast on the beach to cocktails round the pool.

These cut the mustard.

It won't come as a surprise to find out that these dyed, wide-leg trousers (above) are M Missoni. At £455 they are by no means cheap but they are exquisite. Cut narrow on the waist they start to flare out from the hip and look perfect with a simple white shirt tucked in.

This Winter Kate combo of kimono bed jacket and trousers is just beyond incredible. The bright mix of pinks and reds, the sheer aspect and the flared trouser had me at hello. Add in the fact that I am a massive Nicole Richie fan (this is one of her many lines) and you have a winning combo right there.

In reality, I won't be buying either. The jacket, although being perfect, costs £246 and the trousers £206 and that's a lotta money that I don't have.

One can only dream...

What are your must-have summer purchases?
